We do editorial “review quotes” of select recordings we choose to feature unsolicited at no charge, it’s free to have recordings featured like those posted with the “best of…” list. We also do full album reviews and feature articles.

MUSIC FOR REVIEW: We accept unsolicited submissions for JAN music review consideration. Professional musicians only, please. Take a listen to the types of artists and music we review before submitting material to JAN.
DIGITAL, CD, AND VINYL: Jazz Artistry Now prefers to receive submissions in digital format for reviews. However, we may on occasion request a physical copy be mailed to us.
We get lots of music to consider for limited space.
In addition to the website, we post several notifications to our social media pages when a recording has been reviewed by JAN, so please don’t send follow-up notes asking about the status of an approved review request and submission. Thanks.
ARTIST COMMENTARIES: We publish select relevant commentary, musings, and articles written by jazz artists at our discretion. Such commentaries and unpaid re-prints with minimal editing to JAN aesthetics.
WRITER ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS: We sometimes accept unsolicited article submissions from other writers for publication consideration. Articles should be no more than 1,000 words. WE DO NOT RETURN ANY ITEMS SENT TO US. Take a look at our writing style and contact us by email to inquire before sending your work.
- We compensate JAN writers, edit to our aesthetic and style guide, and do not return any materials ultimately sent to us.
- We own all rights to all articles and reviews accepted for publication by JAN in all of its formats.
- Published items in JAN will always contain respective individual writer by-line credit.

Jazz Artistry Now magazine accepts sponsorship of our Contributing Writers through tax-deductible donations that go toward producing professional reviews by professional jazz journalists.
Jazz Artistry Now writers do not accept anything that could be construed as compensation for favorable coverage in JAN or as an inducement to alter or forgo unfavorable coverage in JAN.
As with all areas of the professional jazz industry infrastructure, we believe that our jazz journalists writing for JAN should be compensated fairly for their work as part of a means toward making and maintaining livelihoods and careers.
Clients can not purchase reviews:
- Recordings are prescreened before review assignments are made.
- Jazz Artistry Now only accepts music for review consideration that we consider to be the best representations of jazz artistry now.

ABOUT BURNETT MUSIC FOUNDATION
We are a Tax Exempt Organization under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501 (c) (3). Donors can deduct contributions they make to us under IRC Section 170.
