The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra meets Bobby Watson’s American Jazz Orchestra | August 2014

During my professional career as a musician, I’ve done so many cool things – so much so as to not be able to compare or rate them. I’m truly blessed to have found out I was a musician and arts professional. I use the Internet to network and document musically – mostly.

I had the opportunity to work as the marketing director for the jazz museum for 5 years and during the course of my work I inherently took photographs. Although some were utilized in our promo collateral, I mostly took them for myself because I literally realized that I was a “living part of history” each day I went to work in the historic jazz district of Kansas City.

I took thousands of photographs over those five years. Here’s one of my favorite collections because it features lots of great musicians and many of them have become wonderful colleagues and friends too.

The Legendary Count Basie Orchestra meets Bobby Watson’s American Jazz Orchestra for the first time in a joint concert at the American Jazz Walk of Fame … 75 selected items curated from over 500 photographs that were taken using a Sony Digital Camera and two lenses.
