This stimulating and often-stormy set of exciting post-bop jazz does an excellent job of displaying the musical talents of Jeff “Siege” Siegel’s quartet.

In reality, the music of Alchemy Sound Project is much better heard than described since a great deal takes place in a subtle, tasteful, and thoughtful manner. The music, which is never obvious, is easy to enjoy and recommended.
It is fair to say that there are no dull moments on Jon Irabagon’s Dr. Quixotic’s Traveling Exotics, a stimulating set that will keep listeners constantly guessing what is going to happen next.
